On the 6th day of 2017, I wanted to share with you my thoughts on the Middle Path. I hope that you thoroughly enjoy it! "The Middle path We all remember the story of Icarus, the son of the master craftsman Daedalus in ancient Greek mythology. Daedalus a master craftsman wanted to escape from Crete and fashioned for himself and his son wings made out of wax and feathers. He gave a warning to Icarus not to fly too close to the sun, or too close to the sea, but to follow Daedalus’ path of flight. Icarus got caught up with the wings, flew too close to the sun, the wax melted and he fell into the sea and drowned. There are significant insights from this story to help guide us. We, many times on many levels, want to escape one situation or the other. We want to make a change in our job, in our living situation, in ourselves. We sometimes feel as though we are trapped in a circle that we cannot escape, in circumstances or in relationships that no longer serve...

"Many times in this experience we call life, we experience obstacles, we feel like quitting, giving up. It seems that we are hit with setbacks and progress has slowed or even stopped. However I have a different view of these times, for when we perceive these hardships, our lower self, the ego leaves for a moment, and this leaves the mind and heart clear for a moment. A moment of clarity, that shows us that greater perseverance and faith are required, and in that moment of seeming darkness and uncertainty the light breaks through and fires us back up to push through the veil.  When we look back we realize that we were not on a plateau but actually stepped into a higher phase of existence and self awareness that allowed us to grasp our dreams."   © Inshan Meahjohn 2016
