The better question, and the one most are not asking, is: "How much AI adoption has already happened without our knowledge?" The answer, based on recent data, is a lot. LayerX's 2025 Enterprise AI & SaaS Data Security Report found that 77% of employees paste company data into generative AI prompts. Eighty-two percent of those interactions happen through unmanaged personal accounts. IBM's 2025 Cost of a Data Breach Report, conducted by the Ponemon Institute across 600 organisations, found that 63% have no AI governance policies in place. This is what I call shadow AI. And after years of working in digital transformation and institutional governance, I believe it is the most underestimated risk facing organisations today. As we leave 2019 and head into 2020, I am  re-sharing an alternative perspective that seems timeless.  "To all of you that have had many stumbling 'blocks' this year, always remember that the your true nature is powerful! You can change the nature of the 'blocks' and as you become the co-director of your future, you can use them instead as building 'blocks'.  Is it not interesting that the word 'block' is the same word with two immensely different meanings? Stumbling 'blocks' sometimes make you think you are you are in a weak state but building blocks puts you a stronger state of mind.  Then once you take control of the definition it then becomes your responsibility to show others how to use their 'blocks' to help others step up and build their future.'  © Inshan Meahjohn 2012

Many times in our lives we are faced with significant challenges, and I fully understand how difficult and tough that is. In my work with hundreds of clients, friends and family, I have found that the person who is going through the difficulty is also the person with most power in the situation, even though they may not be aware of it. One reason I say this, is because they have the power to process feelings and to choose which feelings they wish to focus on, that is, they do not have much power over others, their words and deeds, but they have full and complete power over themselves.  I understand how difficult loss, sadness, pain and suffering is, and I wish that today you find a solid support group, get professional help if you need it, take up a hobby that inspires you, do something new, help someone else and be their heroine/hero. It takes a split second to make a decision that can change your life for the better, and today is your day for ...

Be more like a bee. Why?  A bee is the only insect which  produces essential food, its honey can last for thousands of years, is diligent,  is busy with its own work,  is community-oriented,  is constructive,  is productive  believes in itself,  because it defies the laws of physics in its flight. It seems we want everything in an instant. What is an instant? An instant is an infinitesimal space of time.  It seems humanity has gone the way of instant gratification and the ‘I want it all right now culture’. The world has moved towards us experiencing everything as fast as we can! We now have instant coffee, fast food, fast microwaving, instant TV on demand, super-fast internet, instant messaging, speed dating, instant email, drive through weddings, instant buying, exercising in 5mins, instant music, instant apps……….. Hmmmm, maybe, just maybe we should stop just for a moment and think, really think. Do I want to experience the moments of my life in little infinitesimal blocks of time? Or do I want to have a full, deep, enriching life with experiences that are timeless? Can you remember that the times in your life that you had the deepest of experiences? Can you remember your first love, your first bike ride, your first child being born, your...

The Gift "Each and every breath is a wondrous gift,  for only if you have it,  do you still have the magnificent mystery  of being alive. There was once a little bird who wished to fly into the unknowable sky. But alas, it thought its wings were too small and weak, and it had a great fear of falling, or more importantly,  a fear of being ridiculed and jeered at if it failed. One day while walking through the forest, it came upon the ancient and magical wisdom tree, who was singing in the forest.  The tree's gleaming rich green leaves were dancing in the wind, and its roots were deep, wide and strong, and its trunk tall and towering. The little bird gazed, in awe of this tree, and how it made shade for all under it, blocking out the scorching sun.  The little bird thought, this tree being so powerful and wise may be able to help, so it kindly requested of the tree some of its wisdom on how to fly?  The tree said I will not tell you how to fly, but touched his head and magically showed the little bird its past. The bird saw a seed on the ground, being buried and covered with the earth...

On the 6th day of 2017, I wanted to share with you my thoughts on the Middle Path. I hope that you thoroughly enjoy it! "The Middle path We all remember the story of Icarus, the son of the master craftsman Daedalus in ancient Greek mythology. Daedalus a master craftsman wanted to escape from Crete and fashioned for himself and his son wings made out of wax and feathers. He gave a warning to Icarus not to fly too close to the sun, or too close to the sea, but to follow Daedalus’ path of flight. Icarus got caught up with the wings, flew too close to the sun, the wax melted and he fell into the sea and drowned. There are significant insights from this story to help guide us. We, many times on many levels, want to escape one situation or the other. We want to make a change in our job, in our living situation, in ourselves. We sometimes feel as though we are trapped in a circle that we cannot escape, in circumstances or in relationships that no longer serve...
